Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mainly post about my sewing projects, as Iā€™m building a colourful and comfortable everyday wardrobe suitable for a working mum of primary school children. I really love African wax fabric, so that features heavily. I also occassionally post about family life in Edinburgh and travel. Hope you have a nice stay!

This is another pattern I bought a while ago and then promptly forgot about, but I was tidying up the files on my laptop and found it again, and then also this fabric came along and it was fate. Because: tencel! I love love love the feel of tencel, it's so soft and silky but also substantial. Usually it just comes in solid colours though, prints are really unusual. I picked this one called pebble stone which has lovely natural/jewelly colours

The pattern is super simple, it just has a few pieces, front, back, collar, cuffs, and fits on a single A0 sheet.

I made a size L, which is the largest in the size range I'd bought. It's pretty roomy, but that's the style. An M would fit me as well, i think, but would give a different vibe

The instructions are good, though I went a bit off piste with the cuffs thinking I knew what was going on, and ended up doing more topstitching than was strictly necessary. But no harm done. I also added seven buttons rather than five.

The only thing I would maybe change is to not interface the cuffs, I'm not really sure why that's needed

I have more fabric to make another one of these!
